A man from Australia that leaped past a barrier and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was handed a penalty to more than a week in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the country's border control stated to news outlets.

He has a background of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The event caused anger in Singapore, with many accusing him of causing further distress to the star.

The celebrity has mentioned suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her performance in the UK city in May 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event twice, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff stopped him and restrained him.

He then uploaded videos thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "released."

Authorities detained him the next day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Court Judge the judicial official was cited by a news outlet as stating that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was mistaken to assume he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not addressed the incident.

The co-star discussed the situation to a media outlet, stating that she "just wanted to make sure my friend was secure."

"I believe he didn't intend us danger, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I aimed to confirm that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she commented.
