Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
