Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
