Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
